Boise Nationals soccer team advances at Far West

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Boise Nationals Celtic under-18 boys were the lone Idaho team to win their quarterfinal match at the US Youth Soccer Far West Regional Championships on Friday. BNSC Celtic, which finished as the No. 2 team in Pool D, defeated Pool A winner Westside Timbers Copa of Oregon 2-0. Rocky Mountain High's Tyson Fox scored both goals for Celtic. Boise faces Southern California's Fram Premier at 8 a.m. Saturday for a spot in the championship match. No Idaho team has ever won a Far West title and only one squad - the U15 girls Boise Nationals Italia (2013) - has advanced to nationals. Three other Idaho teams - U14 boys BNSC Arsenal, U17 boys BNSC Milan and U16 girls BNSC Italia - lost their quarterfinal games.
