The PGA Tour released the early portion of the 2014-15 schedule on Thursday.
The first seven events on the schedule will start the second weekend in October, and will be played over the next five weeks.
The first event on the schedule is the Frys.com Open, which moves from CordeValle Golf Club to Silverado Resort and Spa in Napa, California. Jimmy Walker kicked off a hot start to this season with a 2-stroke win at this event last year.
That will be followed by the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open in Las Vegas. Webb Simpson blitzed the field last year, as he won by six strokes. The tour then heads back to the east coast for the McGladrey Classic in Georgia. Chris Kirk held off Briny Baird and Tim Clark at Sea Island last fall.
Following those three events, the tour heads overseas for the next two tournaments. First up is the CIMB Classic in Malaysia, where Ryan Moore was a playoff winner last October, and that will be followed by the World Golf Championships - HSBC Champions in China, where Dustin Johnson won by three over Ian Poulter.
While the WGC-HSBC Champions is going on, the remainder of the tour will be in Mississippi for the Sanderson Farms Championship. This event was off the schedule last season. Woody Austin beat Daniel Summerhays and Cameron Beckman in 2013, when the event was played opposite the British Open.
The following week is the final event, the OHL Classic at Mayakoba. Harris English rolled to a 4-stroke victory over Brian Stuard in November.
