Scott Berry has served as a head coach at Dickinson State, Yakima Valley Community College and most recently in the Japan Basketball Association for Levanga Hokkaido.

His stint at Yakima included two years as an assistant under Leon Rice — the current Boise State men’s basketball coach — before taking over for the Yaks in 1999 and compiling a record of 151-55.

Berry has more than 30 years of coaching experience, including 20 years at the high school level in the state of Washington, where he won several district and state championships.

Berry replaces Larry Crump, who resigned in May after 10 seasons as head coach.

• BK wrestling: Travis Ribordy, who has 12 years of teaching and coaching experience in the Meridian School District, takes over the Knights’ program.
