Meridian man accused of possessing child porn

June 13, 2014

Joshua Stephen Fox

Joshua Stephen Fox, 23, was arrested Thursday and taken to the Ada County Jail, where he was charged with 12 counts of possession of child sexually exploitive material.

Boise police began an investigation two months ago following a tip to the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Officers gathered evidence that allowed them to obtain a warrant to search the suspect's home on the Boise Bench. Officers found evidence of child pornography.

Fox was originally arrested on suspicion of distributing child pornography. When he was arraigned Thursday in Ada County Court, he was formally charged with possession of child pornography.

Bond was set at $100,000.

He is scheduled to appear back in court June 27 for a preliminary hearing.

The case remains under investigation and additional charges are possible, police spokeswoman Lynn Hightower said.
