Timberline High names new tennis coach

BOISE — Becky Koessler takes over the Wolves' program, replacing Jim Moortgat, who resigned at the end of the season.

Koessler, a graduate of Capital High and the University of Washington, was a two-time Idaho state singles champion.

She previously served as the director of junior tennis at Mercer Island Country Club and the Pacific Northwest Area Training Center.

SOFTBALL: Lake City High senior second baseman Vanessa Shippy - who has signed with Oklahoma State - was chosen as the 2013-14 Gatorade Idaho Softball Player of the Year.
