— Caldwell City Attorney Mark Hilty said the city is not going to press charges against Canyon County Commissioner Craig Hanson.

Angered by a letter from the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce lambasting the county fair board's plan to build a new fairgrounds and agricultural complex off Idaho 20/26, Hanson on May 19 went to Caldwell City Hall where he confronted Mayor Garret Nancolas' assistant Susan Miller. Nancolas said city staff told him Hanson was angry and threatening. Hanson also confronted Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Theresa Hardin.

Miller and Hardin filed complaints about Hanson's behavior with Caldwell Police Department. The department turned its report over to Hilty to determine if Hanson should be cited or charged

"Our review is complete. We did not feel criminal charges were warranted or would be appropriate in this situation," Hilty said Wednesday.
