Letter: Owyhee Mountains

June 4, 2014

One weekend in late May my husband, George Shearer, and myself went to the Owyhee Mountains, which he has done for many, many years taking care of the bluebird nesting boxes (our state bird). I took many photos of the beautiful desert flowers that are in bloom. During our visit we also saw many bluebirds and the largest antelope at Juniper Station I had ever seen. A badger ran rapidly across the street in front of us and then a couple of deer basically sat under a tree. They let me get so close that I could practically pat their noses.
