STAR PARTY AT HAGERMAN IS MAY 31

The Hagerman Fossil Beds National Monument is having a night sky program on Saturday at the monument's visitor center in Hagerman.

It's free and begins at 7:30 p.m with activities like looking through a solar scope, creating a sundial, building a star wheel and others. There will be a night sky orientation talk by Chris Anderson from the College of Southern Idaho's Centennial Observatory from 9 to 9:30 p.m. An outing to watch the night sky from the Oregon Trail Overlook at the monument will be around 10 p.m. Those interested will leave the visitor center at 9:30 p.m. For more information, call 933-4125.

CIMBA SPRING FLING MOUNTAIN BIKING IS MAY 31

The trail work, mountain bike ride and party is at Jug Mountain Ranch near McCall and sponsored by the Central Idaho Mountain Biking Association.

Trail work begins at 10 a.m. with the ride for all levels at 2:30 p.m. A social is planned at 4:30 p.m. It's free to members and trail volunteers and $5 for non-members.

ROAD ACROSS HELLS CANYON DAM CLOSED FOR REPAIRS

Salmon anglers, rafters, jet-boaters and others beware. Traffic over Hells Canyon Dam will be closed Monday, June 2 through June 6 from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on those days. Idaho Power crews are performing maintenance on the dam.
