Idaho gained 2 percent more construction employment in the year that ended in April, according to The Associated General Contractors of America.

Idaho had 32,800 construction jobs that month, the group said.

The Lewiston metro area gained 11 percent employment in construction during that time, placing it in a tie for 34th most improved nationally, the association said.

When construction was combined with mining and logging, Idaho added just 1 percent more jobs, and Boise lost 1 percent of its jobs, over the year.
