George Hasty

George L. Hasty, 29, of Grandview, was in the Ada County Jail early Friday afternoon, charged with two felonies: attempted robbery and an enhancement for use of a deadly weapon in the process.

His charges stem from Thursday evening, when he allegedly tried to steal a motorcycle and tried to attack its owner with a knife, Boise police say.

Police were called to the area of the attempted theft - West State and North 13th streets - at 7:50 p.m. There, they spoke with the victim and several witnesses to the incident, according to a press release Friday.

According to police, the witnesses said Hasty grabbed the motorcycle while it was parked and started to walk away. Its owner approached Hasty, who then pulled out the knife and attempted to attack the owner. Eventually, Hasty let go of the motorcycle and walked away.

Police sent out Hasty's description and a bike officer found him near South 16th and Grove streets. He was arraigned in Ada County 4th District Court Friday afternoon.
