Fruitland turned a 2-8 start into a state championship.
The Grizzlies (17-10) trailed 3-0 in the third inning against Snake River (15-9), but rallied to win 14-5 and claim their fifth state championship in seven seasons Saturday at Fruitland High.
Senior pitcher Jeremy Alvarado earned the win on the mound, and senior catcher Patrick Murphy got Fruitland's comeback started with a bases-clearing double. Murphy finished with a team-leading five RBIs.
"Our kids really kind of turned the corner and figured out how to get it done," Fruitland coach Russ Wright said. "They are an amazing group."
