NCAA releases Boise State, Idaho and Idaho State Academic Progress Rates

Posted on May 14, 2014

The NCAA released its annual Academic Progress Rate scores for every school for 2012-13. The numbers below are the four-year averages.

Programs with a four-year academic progress rate (APR) below 930 can be barred from participating in the postseason, including all NCAA tournaments and football bowl games.

Idaho's football team is the only one in the state that faces penalties this year.

Idaho State's men's basketball program is the only other program in the state to score below 930 for its four-year average, but the Bengals have posted a rate above 940 in the last two years to avoid penalties. The basketball team had a perfect 1,000 this year, one of six perfect scores by teams at Idaho State.

Four Boise State teams led, or tied for the lead, in the Mountain West in four-year APR scores, including football. The football team tied for fourth nationally and tied for first in the Mountain West with an APR of 988. The women's golf team tied for first nationally and led the Mountain West at a perfect 1,000. The football team finished second in the nation the last two years and is one of five football programs to earn NCAA Public Recognition Awards (top 10 percent) each of the last four years, joining Clemson, Duke, Northwestern and Rutgers. Boise State's swimming and diving and softball teams also tied for the Mountain West lead.
