Michael Deeds: Whiskey Bar in Downtown Boise pushes opening date

Posted on May 13, 2014

This "Words & Deeds" blog has been on sort of a bender for the past couple of days. (Sorry, Mom.)

But when the booze news flows, somebody needs to report it.

Whiskey Bar, a new Downtown Boise bourbon haven I wrote about several weeks ago, has pushed its opening date to May 22.

Owner Jason Kovac says construction delays caused the change of plans at 509 Main St. Whiskey Bar originally was slated to open May 1. Then that date got tweaked to May 15, which I reported last weekend.

But yesterday, Kovac phoned with another slight date bump. Doors definitely will open Thursday, May 22, he said: "Locked solid. ... Get ready to party."

With somewhere in the neighborhood of 150 to 200 whiskeys behind the bar, that should not be a problem.
