Saturday mornings rain may have slowed down the last-minute registrations, but it wasnt able to dampen the spirits of more than 11,000 people who signed up for Boises Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
Most of the money raised by the race and donations stays in Idaho to provide screening, patient assistance and education. The rest goes to national research.
Find a cure, thats what I say, says Annie Franks, a five-year cancer survivor and volunteer, who kept up a constant cheer from the sidelines during the survivors parade.
Doing the race with daughter was on Kathy Williams bucket list. I did it, she says. If I can do this, I can win this battle. Shes a five-year survivor. Her daughter, Kimberly Brackett said: Win for life, she kept saying.
