After the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, Idaho still has a percentage of our population without health care coverage: 55,000 Idahoans fall in the coverage gap - where they make too much money to qualify for Medicaid but don't make enough to purchase health insurance privately. If Idaho chose to expand Medicaid, those people would be covered.
Idaho still does have the opportunity to expand Medicaid. Unfortunately, we have elected representatives who prioritize anti-Obama stances and political maneuvering above citizens. Idaho needs elected officials who care about the well-being of people. How many of you are in the gap, or know someone who is? Do your friends and loved ones suffer and avoid seeking treatment because they cannot afford basic care?
Jimmy Farris is running for House Seat A in District 16. Jimmy supports Medicaid expansion and advocates for Idahoans. Jimmy Farris prioritizes Idaho families and will be an excellent representative who puts people above politics. The primary election is on May 20. Voters of District 16 have the opportunity to send Jimmy into the general election. I hope we do!
