If it's summer, it must be free movies in the park in Meridian, Boise

Meridian: The eighth season of CableOne Movie Night is coming next month at Settlers Park. On Fridays, a massive inflatable screen will rise from the grass to show free, family-friendly films. Movies start at dusk, but people show up around 6:30 or 7 for pre-film activities, which have ranged from martial arts displays to bounce houses in past years.

• June 20 - "Monsters University "

• June 27 - "The Jungle Book"

• July 11 - "Frozen"

• July 18 - "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2"

• July 25 - "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe"

• Aug. 8 - "Despicable Me 2"

• Aug. 15 - "The Nut Job"

• Aug. 22 - "Planes"

• Aug. 29 - TBA

Boise: Movies Under the Stars offers three Saturday-night films at Julia Davis Park's Gene Harris Bandshell, 700 S. Capitol Blvd. Things get started at 7 p.m. with free games and crafts for children, free face painting and music. Movies start at dusk. Camp chairs are welcome, but you'll be asked to sit on the sides.
