Michael Deeds: 5 Things You Should Do This Weekend in Boise

Posted by Michael Deeds on May 8, 2014

When you aren't checking out the first Play Like Randy gig in three years at 9 p.m. Saturday at Tom Grainey's ...

1. TAKE MOM TO BRUNCH

It's late in the game. Real late. But you'll still be able to treat Mom with a meal if you make a call or two. Use this guide to restaurants doing special brunches that we published in Scene last week.

2. GO BIG RED

Thanks to my Celt-complected wife and kids, it's Ginger Fest every day at my house. But if you're not lucky enough to be surrounded by redheads, there's a special party Friday at the Old Idaho Pen.

3. RACE TO PARKCENTER

More than 12,000 runners and walkers are expected to descend upon the annual Susan G. Komen Idaho "Race for the Cure" on Saturday. It raises about $350,000 each year in the battle against breast cancer.

4. SLITHER OVER TO NAMPA

Not sure I'd recommend wearing alligator-skin boots to this event, but Repticon is happening Saturday and Sunday at Nampa Civic Center. You'll find tons of exotic animals, seminars and reptilian merchandise.

5. HAVE SOME LAUGHS (Video warning: R-rated language)

Thoughtful, hilarious comedian David Huntsberger is headlining at Liquid Laughs all weekend. [Tickets]
