Letter: Prison nurses

May 7, 2014

Many people know about the work nurses do: They see them in schools, in clinics and in hospitals. But there is another group of nurses you rarely see. They work in jails and prisons.

Corizon provides health care for the Department of Corrections here, and our nurses serve patients in prisons across the state. For Nurses Week May 6-12, I'd like to commend them for their commitment to delivering quality health care. They work in challenging circumstances, but their concern for patients never falters.

I'm proud of Corizon and our nurses who serve in the prisons.
