Melba's Nebeker joins College of Idaho basketball team

CALDWELL - Melba High graduate Joey Nebeker, who did not have his scholarship renewed at Boise State after playing only 28 minutes this past season, has signed with the College of Idaho, the NAIA program announced Monday.

The 6-foot-7 forward played one season at Boise State and has three years of eligibility with the Coyotes.

Nebeker was the 2011-12 Gatorade Player of the Year for Idaho at Melba, where he was a four-year starter and led the program to three consecutive state tournaments.

"I am looking forward to playing in front of my family and all of the local support,'' Nebeker said in a statement.
