Prospect Elementary School, 4300 N. Red Horse Way in Meridian, was evacuated shortly after 3 p.m. Monday after smoke coming from an overhead projector started to fill a kindergarten class.

There were no reports of injuries nor any flames seen, said Eric Exline, district spokesman.

Students stayed out of the building until 3:50 p.m., when fire officials gave the all clear to re-enter.

The projector was being disconnected and removed late Monday afternoon, Exline said.

The school has about 700 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
