WinCo Foods will start shipping from a new distribution center in Phoenix on May 14.

WinCo is an employee-owned grocery company headquartered in Boise. The new Phoenix center's manager, Don Kellogg, has been managing Boise's distribution center for the past several years.

The center, opening with 900,000 square feet of warehouse space and 185 employees, will ship to WinCo's 19 stores in Arizona, southern Nevada and southern California. It is capable of holding about 3,000 full truckloads of goods, WinCo said.
