BOISE - Shortstop MacKenzie Whyte hit a two-out walk-off home run to lift the Broncos to a 5-4 win and series sweep against New Mexico on Sunday at Dona Larsen Park. Rebecca Patton pitched a complete game to earn her 25th win of the season, striking out five while giving up five hits and one walk. BSU (30-19, 14-7 MW) has won eight straight and 12 of its past 13. The win, coupled with Fresno State's loss to Colorado State on Sunday, moves the Broncos into a tie for first place in the Mountain West as the teams enter the final weekend of play. The Broncos and Bulldogs are one game ahead of San Diego State, which hosts Boise State this weekend. BSU owns the tiebreaker against Fresno State.

IDAHO MEN'S GOLF: The Vandals took second at the WAC Championships in Las Vegas despite recording the lowest score of the final round (294). Idaho's three-day total was 2-over 866. New Mexico State (856) won the team title. Ryan Porch finished third at 2-under 214. Aaron Cockerill and Jared du Toit earned first-team All-WAC honors. Du Toit was also recognized as the Freshman of the Year, and Rylee Iacolucci was a second-team all-conference choice.
