Letter: Obamacare

May 1, 2014

I am still wondering how is it for a person that had no insurance can get a tax break. I have had insurance for many years. My problem is, why, if the company you work for offers insurance that you cannot use, should you not get a tax break if you have to look elsewhere? You are in the same position as they are. When you go elsewhere, your insurance cost is going to be more. In my case I have to come up with $515 a month. That is very unfair. I am sure there are others in the same position. It feels like we are being punished because our company provides insurance. I am glad the uninsured can now get insurance, but ... let's be fair about it.
