It is not often you meet a GOP candidate running for a statewide Idaho office who considers it a plus that he's never been elected to anything before. But considering Deputy Ada County Clerk Phil McGrane's three opponents are all veterans of the Idaho Legislature -- former House Speaker Lawerence Denney and former Sens. Mitch Toryanski and Evan Frasure -- McGrane is running fast and light-footed with no political baggage. He does have one vote all locked up. The much revered Ben Ysursa, who holds the SOS title until December, has endorsed the young McGrane. Here's how McGrane introduced himself to voters and the Idaho Statesman Editorial Board Monday.
