Sewer line problem closes S.E. Boise Greenbelt section

April 18, 2014

A section of Greenbelt along Warm Springs Avenue near North Shakespeare Way has been closed until further notice, the Ada County administration department reported Friday afternoon. The Friday closure came during work to install a new Boise city sewer line: Excavation by Schmidt Construction Company ran into an unexpected problem and damaged a portion of the pathway, according to a county news release.

"The Greenbelt is now closed at Shakespeare Way, and is expected to remain closed for a period of potentially two weeks or more while crews work to address and repair the problem," the county reported.

Greenbelt users can still access portions of the pathway east and west of the Highway 21 Bridge and Diversion Dam, but there will be no through traffic allowed on the Greenbelt in either direction in the area of North Shakespeare Way until the sewer line issue is resolved.

Updates on this closure will be posted on the website.
