Letter: POW/MIAs

April 18, 2014

It is difficult for me to understand why Congressman Raul Labrador refuses to support our POW/MIAs. He has been asked many times to co-sponsor HR 231. This resolution calls upon the U.S. Congress and President Obama to establish a select committee. This committee would investigate and once and for all determine what happened to the POW/MIAs and those unaccounted for. My former husband, Capt. Harry Moore, is one of the 7,800 missing from the Korean War alone.

Labrador has received numerous requests to join Congressman Mike Simpson and 103 other members of the U.S. House of Representatives who have done so. Recently the Idaho House and Senate passed Memorial 8 unanimously. It has been signed by the secretary of state. Memorial 8 requests the president and Congress to establish the select committee.

In spite of the overwhelming support from Idaho, Rep. Labrador has ignored our pleas. My family works constantly on behalf of the many families whose loved ones are missing. We also pressure the Defense Department to bring Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl home. Apparently Labrador does not think those who served their country and are missing are important.
