State Board of Education member Milford Terrell said Thursday that he'll step down June 30.
Ive served as a volunteer for 30 years for six governors on numerous boards and committees, Terrell said in a news release from the board. My wife and I have decided its time to scale back on some of these activities.
Terrell, the owner of DeBest Plumbing in Boise, is a former president of the Boise State University Bronco Athletic Association who was appointed to the board in 2008 by then-Gov. Dirk Kempthorne. Gov. Butch Otter reappointed him five years later.
Board President Don Soltman said, Milfords contributions to Idaho are countless, and his dedication to making education better for our students will benefit us all for years to come. I speak for the Board when I say how privileged we have been to serve beside an individual with such high ideals, integrity and commitment. His wise counsel and tireless efforts will be greatly missed.
Members of the State Board are appointed by the Governor and serve five-year terms. The Idaho State Board of Education is a policy-making body for public education, including state colleges and universities.
