TRASH CLEANUP PLANNED ALONG SNAKE RIVER APRIL 19

Volunteers are needed for cleanups, sponsored by Idaho Fish and Game and Canyon County Parks, Waterways and Recreation Saturday at 9 a.m. Volunteers should RSVP F&G volunteer coordinator Michael Young at the Fish and Game Garden City office, 327-7095. Participants will start at two locations - Fish and Game's Map Rock site and Swan Falls Dam.

BLM PLANS HIKES IN SNAKE RIVER CANYON IN APRIL

The U.S. Bureau of Land Management is offering two free day hikes in the Snake River Canyon south of Boise. The first hike for strong, experienced hikers is Saturday, April 19, to the top of Guffey Butte across the Snake River from Celebration Park. For a less strenuous hike, join the BLM on Saturday April 26, for a hike on Halverson Bar. Registration is required by calling Barb Forderhase at 384-3485.

FISHING DERBY AT CASCADE

Howdy's 20th annual Cascade fishing derby is Saturday and Sunday, April 26-27. The entry fee is $7 for adults and kids 13 and younger can enter for free.

Cash prizes will be awarded for adults and kids for the largest trout and stringer of three perch by weight. Everyone who enters the derby has a chance to win a prize after the final weigh-in at 3 p.m, Sunday.

Anglers must register before fishing at Howdy's Gas and Grub at 503 N. Main St. in Cascade. For details call 382-6712.
