Boise police bust two Miami men on counterfeit card charges

April 10, 2014

Julio Jimenez, 54, and 25-year-old Andy Rodriquez Romero were arrested by Boise police Wednesday on felony charges of criminal possession of a financial transaction card or number.

Both men are from Miami, Fla. Investigators believe they were in the Treasure Valley to use counterfeit credit cards to buy merchandise and gift cards at local businesses.

Officers were alerted to a report of fraud at 3:20 p.m. They located the suspect vehicle and followed it to a retail store in Meridian, where the two men were contacted and arrested. Both suspects had multiple counterfeit credit cards in their possession, and Jimenez had a fake New York driver's license in the same false name that was on the counterfeit credit cards.
