A 39-year-old Meridian man is being held in the Ada County Jail on $1 million bond on charges of sex crimes involving minors.

Robert Scott Ramella has been charged with three counts of sexual battery of a minor child 16 or 17 years old, two counts of sexual exploitation of a child, one count of possession of sexually exploitative material and one count of dispensing alcohol to a minor.

Meridian Police Lt. Mike De St. Germain said sexual exploitation and possession of sexually exploitative materials in this case refer to enticing and exchanging pornographic photos with a child.

Deputy Police Chief Tracy Basterrechea said Ramella was arrested at his home on March 28. He had arranged to meet a 16-year-old girl at a Boise mall via a phone app that both were using, Basterrechea said.

"During our investigation, after seizing his cell phone and computer, we learned of possible additional victims," he said.

Ramella bonded out of jail on April 2, according to online court records. This week, a grand jury indicted him on six felony charges, and a $1 million arrest warrant was issued. Detectives arrested him at his home Tuesday.

Ramella will be arraigned at 2 p.m. on April 15.
