Prepare for the primary: Idaho Statesman voter guide

Idaho StatesmanApril 10, 2014

Voters, get ready Early voting starts April 21 in Canyon County and April 28 in Ada County. The election is May 20. To help you make your decision, we will post our online voter guide on April 25 to and on our Idaho Statesman (iOS version, Android version) and Idaho Politics (iOS version, Android version) apps. We are inviting all candidates who filed to run, including unopposed and judicial candidates and candidates from parties that do not appear on the primary ballot, to participate in the guide.

Candidates, check your email We sent invitations on Wednesday to all candidates in federal, statewide, and Ada and Canyon county races - as well as Southwest Idaho legislative races - to file your information in the guide. Any candidates who did not receive this should check their spam folder (because spam happens), then email to request a questionnaire.

Useful and thorough The guide lets voters look up which candidates will be on the ballot and then compare their opinions on various issues. In 2012, the Statesman's voter guides received more than 150,000 views.

Idaho Statesman is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
