Letter: Parking machines

April 9, 2014

Watch your time with the new, pay-by-machine system in the parking garages!

I attended the Flower and Garden Show Friday, March 21, parking in the City Centre Garage and taking my ticket with me as directed by the signs in the garage so I could use the new system to pay for parking. When I went to the machines on the first level to pay, a very nice employee was there to help me through the process. After he explained it all, I inserted my ticket. The total amount owed was $7.50, for 2 hours and 5 minutes. The employee said he could not override the system, so I paid $2.50 for 5 minutes. This is a major flaw in the new system, especially since those 5 minutes were spent with the employee explaining the system.
