Nampa police arrest homeless man for robbery following Tuesday chase

April 8, 2014

Nampa police say a man wanted for robbery crashed a pickup and broke into an apartment during an attempt to flee law enforcement Tuesday morning.

According to police, officers approached Shane Tucker, 22, with a warrant at about 9:30 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 1900 block of 1st Street North. Tucker reportedly fled in a blue Dodge pickup, but crashed it into two parked cars at another apartment complex in the 1900 block of East Railroad Street, just a few hundred feet away.

Tucker allegedly left the pickup, entered an apartment through a window and ran out the back, where police detained him. He was treated at an unspecified hospital for a minor leg injury, then taken to the Canyon County Jail and arrested for robbery, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful entry, reckless driving, driving while suspended and resisting arrest.
