One injured in morning Boise freeway crash

A Boise woman was injured during a Friday morning wreck on Interstate 84, one mile east of the Broadway interchange.

Julie Boyd, 35, was stopped in traffic on the eastbound lanes. Salvador Alvarez, 32, of Nampa failed to stop and ran into the back of Boyd's vehicle at about 8 a.m., according to a report from the Idaho State Police.

Traffic was blocked for about 15 minutes, until emergency crews could clear the left lane. It took another hour before the right lane opened up. Traffic was backed up for several miles.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and an airbbag in Alvarez's vehicle deployed.

Boyd told troopers she would go to a local hospital by private behicle.
