Idaho colleges roundup: Boise State picks up basketball commit

The Boise State men's basketball team added some needed height when 6-foot-10, 240-pound center Kevin Allen of Pratt (Kan.) Community College verbally committed Monday night. Allen, originally from Detroit, averaged 13.4 points and 8.4 rebounds per game this season. He is expected to join the team this summer and will be a junior with a redshirt year available.

C OF I BASEBALL: The College of Idaho swept Simpson University in a doubleheader Monday in Caldwell, winning Game 1 3-0, and Game 2 11-0.

C OF I SOFTBALL: The Coyotes split a doubleheader with Northwest Christian on Monday in Caldwell. The C of I won Game 1 8-0, then lost Game 2 3-2.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE GOLF: Ian Briske matched a school record with a 4-under 68 at Ridgecrest Golf Club. Briske is second overall after the first day, and NNU is in second place in the Northwest Nazarene Intercollegiate tournament.
