Upscale townhomes planned in Garden City near Boise River Park

March 31, 2014

— Water Park Townhomes will be an upscale, nine-unit development on the Garden City side of the Boise River.

Developer Gary Asin plans to build the townhomes on a half-acre lot at 3600 N. Prospect Way, just west of the Boise River Park, which the city of Boise opened in 2012 and hopes to expand in the coming years. They'll be two- and three-story homes, said Jenah Thornborrow, development services director in Garden City.

Asin said he has graded the lot and expects to install water, sewer and power lines soon. He hopes to start building the townhomes in May. He'll phase in the project, he said, starting with two or three homes with an eye to finishing four or five this year.

The Garden City City Council approved Asin's plan Feb. 10, Thornborrow said.

Earlier this month, developers broke ground on a 21,000-square-foot, two-story office building near the Boise River Park. It's part of an ongoing urban renewal effort in Downtown Boise's West End.
