Local colleges: Boise State men's tennis wins another on the road

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Brendan McClain won his 11th straight singles match, and the 19th-ranked Broncos (17-3) won their seventh straight dual by beating UC Santa Barbara 6-1 on Friday. McClain dropped just one game, and Andy Bettles didn't drop any as he earned his 20th win of the season. The Broncos visit Cal Poly on Sunday, and Stanford on Tuesday.

BSU SOFTBALL: The Broncos (17-14, 2-2 Mountain West) lost 6-4 at Colorado State after the Rams (16-9, 1-3) scored five runs in the sixth inning. Hailey Torrez and Jordan Krieger had two hits apiece for BSU.

BSU WOMEN'S TENNIS: Anissa Bryant-Swift and Sandy Vo earned three-set single victories to give the Broncos (9-8, 2-2 MW) a 4-3 victory over New Mexico (11-7, 0-1) at the Boas Tennis Center.

NORTHWEST NAZARENE SOFTBALL: The Crusaders (8-20, 2-8 GNAC) dropped all three games of a tripleheader to Western Oregon (21-11, 12-1) in Nampa. The Wolves won 12-3, 5-2 and 15-5.
