Roger Phillips: The outrage, the horror, Boise didn't make a top 25 list

rphillips@idahostatesman.comMarch 28, 2014

I was shocked and deeply offended by Boise's unjust exclusion from "The Active Times" (I hadn't heard of it, either) list of the America's 25 Fittest Cities, and America's 10 Fittest Small Cities. We're the king of all Top 10 city lists. Everyone knows that. The Active Times says it did "an exhaustive study." A pun, I get it, but apparently someone didn't come up for air long enough and got light-headed.

To deepen my horror and outrage, "Sioux City, ID" was ranked ninth for America's Least Fittest Cities.

Wah, wah, wah, Active Times. Go back to grade school geography and try again with that Sioux City thing. And come out to Boise and we will kick your butt on a mountain bike ride in the Foothills or a backpacking trip in the Sawtooths. Better get back on your elliptical, check your heart rate monitor and tight up your spandex, we're waiting for you, punks.
