Recap the Legislature Tuesday with Statesman's Popkey, Kyle & Ed News' Richert

dpopkey@idahostatesman.comMarch 24, 2014

My colleague Zach Kyle, business reporter extraordinaire, education expert Kevin Richert and I will take questions about the 2014 Legislature beginning at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Head to the home page at IdahoStatesman.com and we'll be there, virtually.

We hope to both inform and entertain. In his first session, Kyle's reporting included following business issues and a profile of retiring House Business Committee Chairman Frank Henderson.

Richert is a former Statesman reporter and editorial page editor who now owns education coverage at Idaho Education News.

I completed my 26th session last week, following the tension between spending and taxes, rules reform, Add the Words protests, election-year drama, campaign finance, and fallout from last year's health insurance exchange controversy. For the first time, I accurately predicted the Legislature's adjournment date.

Kevin has an encyclopedic mind, graduated from Northwestern and still runs Robie Creek.

Zach sits next to me and is an interesting guy, though he seems a little weary today after Treefort revelry. He's the son and brother of commercial fishermen in Bellingham, Wash. Be there and maybe he'll tell a fish tale if the chat slows down.

Below, from left, Kyle, me and Richert. I'm bigger because I'm too inept to shrink the photo.
