Two men were arrested at Ann Morrison Park for public fighting, and a woman who police say interfered with those arrests also got a free ride to to the Ada County jail.

The incident was reported as a fight at the duck pond, which is on the west side of the park. It happened just before 5 p.m.

An officer in the park observed two men punching each other, Boise Police Acting Field Commander Tom Fleming said. When he tried to break up the fight, a woman "got into the middle of it," Fleming said.

When the officer was distracted by the woman, one of the men accused of fighting tried to flee the scene. He jumped into the car of a stranger, Fleming said.

The people in the car were able to flag down an officer and get the man out of the vehicle. By this point, there were numerous police vehicles at the scene, witnesses said.

The two men were charged with misdemeanor fighting in public. The woman was charged with resisting and obstructing and battery on an officer.

"She kicked him in the leg," Fleming said.
