Optum Idaho, the company that manages outpatient behavioral-health services for Idaho Medicaid, will offer a mental health first-aid class in Meridian next month.
The 1.5-day training will teach attendees how to identify mental-health problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders and substance abuse; and what to do when someone has a mental-health crisis. Attendees could include teachers, coaches, family members and caregivers, emergency-housing staff, religious leaders, first responders and law enforcement employees.
The free training is open to 25 people.
