UPDATE: Name of man arrested in connection with Middleton meth lab released

A hazardous materials team from the Drug Enforcement Agency dispatched to a home in the 800 block of East Second Street South in Middleton Wednesday afternoon.

Officers from the City-County Narcotics Unit and the DEA served a search warrant at the residence and found evidence of a methamphetamine manufacturing operation, police said.

Middleton resident Charles Edward Montgomery, 37, was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug trafficking by manufacture. He was booked into the Canyon County Detention Center.

The items found inside the home pose no danger to the public, police said.
