The squeezed inventory in the Treasure Valley isn't pushing up prices as it was during the summer, Keller Williams real estate agent Janet Parsons says. Even as home-building rebounds, buyers now are being stingy and unwilling to break their budgets to outbid one another.
"Sellers need to be extremely accurate about pricing to have their homes sell within 30 to 60 days," Parsons says. "The market always dictates price, but even with multiple offers, I don't see homes selling high."
Parsons also says some landlords who bought at peak value before the market crashed want rid of the properties and are selling at a loss.
"Others have decided to wait a little longer in the hopes that they'll be able to sell at a better price next year," she says.
