Ada County Pet of the Week: Murphy the Lab mix

March 18, 2014

Murphy, 1-1/2, is a neutered male, black and white, pit bull terrier and Labrador retriever mix. He is playful and puppy-like. Murphy is a recent graduate of the shelter's Inmate Dog Alliance Project of Idaho (IDAPI) training program. He will require an active home with plenty of daily exercise. Murphy is attentive and knows all his basic obedience commands. He is crate- and house-trained. Murphy is a big fan of the shelter's play groups and loves to run, romp and wrestle with his canine pals. His play style is physical, so he is best matched with similar playmates and older, more sedate dogs can find him pesky. Murphy loves playing with toys, so a well-stocked toy box will be a must in his new home.

Murphy can be found in kennel 307 (#20713120) at the Idaho Humane Society at 4775 Dorman St. in Boise.

The shelter is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
