This goose caused a power outage in downtown Boise when it flew into power lines on Thursday March 13.

A power outage Thursday affected about 339 customers in Downtown Boise — and caused some traffic snarls. The outage was reported at 11:53 a.m.

By 12:21 p.m., power had been restored to all but eight customers, according to an Idaho Power official. A goose into the power lines caused the outage.

The area affected included the area from Grove Street to Julia Davis Park, and Broadway Avenue to Capitol Boulevard.

The person who reported the outage said there were power lines down at 3rd and Myrtle streets. An Idaho Power spokeswoman confirmed that lines were down but she was unsure of the location.
