Idaho women advance to WAC semifinals

LAS VEGAS - The Vandals scored a season-high 54 first-half points on their way to an 84-43 victory over Chicago State (3-27, 0-16 WAC) in the WAC Tournament quarterfinals at the Orleans Arena on Wednesday.

Idaho plays New Mexico State (11-19) at 1 p.m. Friday.

Idaho (23-8, 15-1) led 54-16 at halftime on 58.6-percent shooting and finished with 14 3-pointers, one shy of the school and tournament record.

Five Vandals finished in double figures, led by sophomore Christina Salvatore with a game-high 18 points. Ali Forde recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 15 points and 13 rebounds, and Stacey Barr added 15 points.
