UPDATE: More info released on Nampa car into building that sent 2 to hospital

March 12, 2014

The driver of a vehicle that crashed through the window of a Nampa business Wednesday — striking several people — hasn't been cited, but the accident remains under investigation.

Nampa Police Sgt. Tim Randall said Thursday that the car will be checked for mechanical problems. The driver of the car was a 72-year-old Payette woman who has one leg.

"She said she thought she was press on the brake but apparently had her foot on the gas," Randall said. He said regardless of whether or not the driver is cited or not, it's possible that investigators will ask DMV officials to revoke her driving privileges.

The crash occurred shortly after noon at the Verizon Wireless store, 1322 Caldwell Blvd.

One store employee and one customer were taken to St. Luke's Nampa for treatment of injuries that weren't life-threatening. Others were treated at the scene. Neither the driver, nor her passenger, were injured.
