Idaho’s Stacey Barr, Jon Newlee honored by WAC

DENVER — Idaho junior Stacey Barr was named the WAC Player of the Year. She averaged 19.7 points, 8.6 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game in WAC games. Vandals coach Jon Newlee was named WAC Coach of the Year as the team earned the top seed in this week’s conference tournament. The Vandals’ Alyssa Charlston earned second-team honors, and teammate Ali Forde was named to the All-Defensive Team. Idaho (22-8) opens tournament play against Chicago State (3-26) in Las Vegas at 1 p.m.
