The accident occurred on Orchard Avenue at Horton Street. There are crosswalks at the intersection.

A 37-year-old Nampa man died after being struck by a large van Sunday night, according to police. The man's name has not been released.

The collision was reported just before 8 p.m. Police say the van was traveling east on Orchard Avenue. The vehicle, described as a Ford Econoline van, struck the man at the intersection of Orchard Avenue and Horton Street, just west of Caldwell Boulevard.

The intersection has a marked crosswalk. Investigators haven't yet determined if the man was in the crosswalk when he was hit, Nampa Sgt. Matt Pavelek said Monday morning. The front passenger side of the van struck the man.

The speed in that area, which is residential, is 30 mph, Pavelek said.

The crash is under investigation. No charges have been filed.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Sgt. Pavelek at 468-5608 or the Nampa Police Department at 465-2257.
