Boise police: Unattended package found at airport posed no threat

March 9, 2014

Travelers arriving at the Boise Airport Sunday afternoon might have wondered at the large police presence outside the airport.

Bomb experts with the department were dispatched to the airport after a report of an unattended package on a walkway of the parking garage across the street from the terminal. The package — a cardboard box — was reported just before 1 p.m.

Police blocked one lane of traffic on the lower level of the airport while the bomb squad worked to determine what was in the package. Otherwise, airport operations were undisturbed by the investigation.

At 3 p.m., a police spokeswoman said the situation had been resolved, and the package posed no threat to public safety. No information on the contents of the box was released.
